Cheese consumption could prolong our lives

An extremely wide-ranging study from China reveals astonishing results. The study investigated which factors increase life expectancy. Good mental well-being has a strong influence on a long and quality life - and cheese consumption in particular appears to significantly improve well-being.

Quality of life thanks to fine cheese - who hasn't experienced this?

An extremely interesting study

We probably don't need a study to tell us that a good and stable mental well-being contributes greatly to a high quality of life. But what we can take away from the new study from China is that this well-being has a statistically significant effect on a longer life expectancy. Which factors contribute most to improving our quality of life is particularly exciting for us as cheese producers and cheese lovers.

The >STUDY from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine uses a huge data set, analysing up to 2.4 million European individuals. It can therefore be assumed that the scope of the study allows conclusions to be drawn that are actually significant. This is made possible by what is known as >MENDEL RANDOMISATION.

Cheese stands out as a happiness booster

According to the study, cheese is not directly responsible for longevity, but the consumption of cheese products does make a noticeable contribution to well-being. And well-being is one of the most important factors for a long and healthy life. The consumption of fruit, for example, also has a positive influence, while smoking and television viewing have a clearly negative effect (probably not surprising).

Why cheese in particular could have such a great effect is not yet fully understood and requires further research. While fatty foods are often considered unhealthy, studies show that moderate consumption of milk fat can lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and overall mortality, as Sciencealert writes.

We at Güntensperger are also aware of a number of positive effects of eating cheese. On the one hand, cheese is a source of energy from the dairy product category that is hardly contaminated by lactose. Secondly, cheese is a reliable source of calcium and covers protein requirements. Furthermore, eating cheese is simply a pleasure and we all know that good food simply makes us happy and satisfied.

Whether we rely on studies, our feelings or our experience - it remains clear that cheese lovers are on the right track. Güntensperger now offers a really large selection of >CHESES AND CHEESE PRODUCTS, both traditional and innovative, which guarantee pleasure in the moment and thus prolong life through a kind of timelessness.

We, at least, live for cheese,
