Huge & modern new cheese ripening storage in Kirchberg

Professional ripening storage is an essential part of the development of our exquisite cheese cheeses. As Güntensperger expands, so does our need for storage. We have now opened a new qualitatively and technologically advanced warehouse in Kirchberg - it is already in active use.

The right way to store cheese


The professional storage of our cheeses is essential to ensure that they mature and develop properly. During its creation, a cheese goes through various stages of production. The longest time of its development cycle is spent in storage.


Proper storage brings with it high demands. Climatic conditions have to be right, we place the highest regard on hygiene and every cheese is treated differently. In addition, there must be a sensible division of space for us who work there. Likewise, the machinery that supports us in our work must be properly set up and coordinated with the warehouse.


Our new storage


A number of requirements therefore come with the construction of a new warehouse. After two years of construction, we were finally able to put such a cheese storage into operation in Kirchberg last summer.


We were able to build an ultra-modern ripening warehouse in the former factory halls in Kirchberg, which had been empty for some time. It has space for 120,000 wheels of cheese. Here, the cheese can ripen in 4 places and at a height of 32 layers under excellent conditions. The new warehouse is particularly suitable for the ripening of cheeses with a long and intensive ripening period.
